For a small group of 5, this was a great tour of the Galapagos. We took the 5-day and would truly recommend at least a 6-day if you have the time. So much to see! Nice, rounded variety of things to do including hiking, snorkeling, the history of the islands and more. Good variety of places to eat included. All our guides spoke very good English and were very knowledgeable. Late January - early February was a great time to visit as the weather and water temperature was great! Cindy B.

My husband and I had an incredible, once in a lifetime experience touring the Galapagos Islands for 5 days. The tour provided door-to-door service from the moment we landed. I was impressed that the tour included 3 meals per day, hotels, and most of the transportation. The hotel rooms were clean and every local person that I encountered was friendly and hospitable. The tours groups were small and the guides provided us insights to island life and the wildlife unique to the islands. I enjoyed all of the tours including Flamingo Lagoon, Sierra Negra, Concha Perla lagoon, Darwin Station, Tortuga Bay, Santa Fe island snorkeling and our side trip to El Chato giant tortoise reserve. We traveled in August and the weather was perfect. We mostly experienced overcast skies and mild temperatures. The water was clear and warm for snorkeling. El Chato reserve allowed us to walk around and see free grazing giant tortoises. Each day, we met different people from literally around the world. Island hopping tours were perfect for us because we were able to support the local people, it was far less expensive than a cruise, we had personalized tours, and we slept at hotels at night. Cruise tours do not support the local businesses as much and you do not have as much time to explore the islands on your own.

We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend it to others. We had great guides except for one, and already shared that information with the company. You need to love the outdoors and physical activity and be ready to experience changes in weather conditions with a sense of adventure. There is a fair amount of boat travel between islands, but I loved that too. It was great to see the volcano, all of the many animals in the wild, and our first snorkeling session was great with a wonderful guide. One of the really great services was our last day pick-up as we left. We added 2 more days on another island, not related with this tour. The company made sure they had all of our arrival and departure times. The young man met us when we returned to Santa Cruz and stayed with us all the way until we checked into our flight. That was so helpful and such a relief as he helped us through crowds, got our luggage on and off trucks, busses, and ferries. I will say that if you like a vacation at an all inclusive resort, this probably is not for you. But if you love life and are up for an adventure, this is the way to go.

We had a wonderful time! I made several hotel changes before our eventual pick-up, and the Viator personnel kept track of my MANY e-mails. Thank you for this! The hike to the Volcano was gorgeous, though a little longer than we anticipated. Had we known it would be over 10 miles, we would have brought our own supply of snacks, as the supplied lunch was not quite enough sustenance for the hike, AND lunch. The guides were all top-notch, and very well-educated. The other meals were solid. The style of meal preparation was simple and straightforward, but the actual food was EXCELLENT quality. The transfers were prompt. The group size was perfect. I would use Viator again.

My family and I just returned from the 4 day island hopping tour. The trip was amazing. Tons of sea life, iguanas, turtles. Below i will detail the trip a bit more with pros and cons.
Day 1- Picked up from airport by guide, we were taken to Puerto Ayoro for lunch. After lunch we took a boat about 2 hours to Isla Isabel. We checked into hotel and went to the flamingo lagoon. Pros: Hotel is basic, but nice. Food is good and served in a timely manner. Flamingo tour was beautiful. Cons: Water on this island is LIMITED. Bring bottled water from main island. Bring water with you as the water on this island is not safe.
Day 2- Picked up from hotel for trip to Volcano. The volcano hike is long. The total trip is about 10 miles. We were unaware of the distance so luckily my 4 and 10 year olds were troopers and happily completed the hike. We returned from the hike and went snorkeling. Pros: The volcano was an amazing site. The guide was great and well informed. The snorkeling experience was amazing. We swam with turtles right next to us, and saw beautiful sea life. Cons: The hike is long so be prepared with water and extra food. The lunch supplied by the hotel in NOT enough small sandwich and an apple. It turns out to be quite a long day between the hike and snorkeling. If you are traveling as a family and your kids are adventurous, then you should not have a problem
Day 3- Took boat early 5:30 a.m. back to Puerto Ayoro about 2 hours. We checked into hotel and ate breakfast. Our guide met us and took us to the Charles Darwin Museum. After we returned to the hotel for lunch and then walked to Tortuga Bay with the same guide. Pros: Our guide Cesar was awesome. Well informed and made the tour enjoyable. Museum is really cool with turtles, birds, iguanas, and plant life. Tortuga Bay is amazing. Iguanas walking on the beach and clear water. Cons: Tortuga Bay is NOT close. Their is a claim that the walk is about 2.5 Km. This is inaccurate. We walked from the hotel and it was about 4 to 4.5 miles walking. Not a big deal, just be prepared.
Day 4: Took ride back to boat for Isla Baltra.
The trip is unique but it is not for everyone. If you like luxury hotels, easy travel, then this is not a good trip for you. That being said, that is probably why we liked the trip so much. It was a rugged, out of the way, no working internet, amazing trip. Just... be prepared! Water, extra food, and good shoes!

Sorting, ranking, and search results
Viator wants to make your searches as relevant as possible. That’s why we offer many ways to help you find the right experiences for you.
On some pages, you can select how to sort the results we display and also use filter options to see only those search results that meet your chosen preferences. You’ll see explanations of what those sort options mean when you select them.
You’ll see some experiences with a “Promoted” badge, which means that the operators of those experiences have agreed to pay Viator more to have their experience highlighted.
If you see an Experience Award Winner label, the award is based on average review ratings, share of bookings with a review, and number of bookings through Viator over a 12-month period.
The importance of any one factor over any other in a sort order varies, and the balance is constantly being reviewed and adjusted. We’re always updating our systems and testing new ways to refine and improve your results to make them as relevant as possible to meet your needs.
